At the Eastern Economic Forum, an important agreement was concluded on the launch of a large-scale project in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) – the Aldan industrial cluster. The document was signed by the chairman of the regional government, Kirill Bychkov, and the general director of the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation, Nikolay Zapryagaev.
Total volume investment into the economy of the Far East will amount to a record 535.3 billion rubles. The implementation of the project will create more than 16.7 thousand new jobs for residents of the region. This event is of strategic importance for the entire macroregion, noted Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Trutnev.
Within the framework of the cluster, a comprehensive development of the industrial infrastructure of the Aldan region is planned. The construction of main pipelines, modern power lines, roads and railways with integration into the BAM and Trans-Siberian Railways will open up new logistics opportunities.
Plans include the creation of a whole group of high-tech production facilities. These include a uranium mining and metallurgical plant, an enterprise for the production of iron ore pellets, plants for the production of liquefied natural gas, ammonia, mineral fertilizers and other products.
The project will receive comprehensive support, including the status of a resident of a priority development area. This will provide investors with significant benefits and preferences. The creation of the cluster will ensure the comprehensive development of the mineral resources potential of South Yakutia and will have a significant synergistic effect for the entire economy of the Far East.
The material was prepared with the support of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science as part of the Decade of Science and Technology.
