In Kamchatka, in the area of the Bezymianny volcano, 118 earthquakes occurred over the past 24 hours. Seismic activity was accompanied by the glow of the volcano’s dome and the descent of hot avalanches. Scientists warn of a possible eruption, which could be accompanied by the release of ash to a height of up to 15 kilometers.

According to the Kamchatka branch of the Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Bezymyanny volcano is showing signs of increased activity. Over the past 24 hours, 118 tremors were registered in his area. Particular attention of specialists was attracted by the glow of the volcano’s dome, which was observed in the dark. This phenomenon is associated with tectonic processes in the stress zone.

In addition, on the southeastern slope of the volcano there was a continuous flow of hot debris avalanches. Such signs indicate that the volcano is preparing for a new eruption.

Scientists do not rule out that the Bezymianny volcano may erupt in the near future. If ash is released, its column can rise to a height of up to 15 kilometers above sea level. This will pose a threat to aviation traffic in the region, as the ash is dangerous for aircraft engines.

The Bezymyanny volcano is located 40 kilometers from the village of Klyuchi, Ust-Kamchatka region. Its height is about three kilometers, and the last eruption occurred in July 2024. Despite the fact that populated areas are located at a safe distance, experts continue to monitor the situation.

Bezymyanny is one of the most active volcanoes in Kamchatka. Its eruptions are often accompanied by powerful ash emissions and avalanches. The latest eruption in July 2024 was one of the most significant in recent years. Then the ash column reached a height of 12 kilometers, and avalanches spread several kilometers from the crater.

Scientists note that the volcano’s current activity is consistent with its normal behavior before an eruption. However, the exact time and scale of the future event is difficult to predict.

Specialists from the geophysical service of the Russian Academy of Sciences continue to monitor the volcano around the clock. Using modern equipment, they monitor the slightest changes in its activity. This makes it possible to promptly warn local authorities and the population about a possible threat.

Residents of nearby areas are advised to monitor official messages and be prepared to evacuate if necessary.

Increased seismic activity at Bezymyanny volcano is causing concern among scientists. The glow of the dome and avalanches indicate a possible eruption, which could affect air traffic in the region. Experts continue to monitor the situation to minimize risks to the population and infrastructure.

Bezymianny Volcano remains one of the most active in Kamchatka, and its behavior reminds us of the strength and unpredictability of nature.
