Cherepovets metallurgists took part in the Industrial show as part of Moscow Fashion Week. The Severstal company was one of the organizers of the event and presented a collection created by local designer Zhenya Mikhailova of the Grecha brand. The main idea of the project is to rethink the work uniform and create modern urban clothing on its basis.
The models were not professional fashion models, but real employees Cherepovets Metallurgical Plant. Yulia, foreman of the metal certification department, and Nikita, foreman of the rolling shop, took to the catwalk in looks inspired by their daily work. The designer reworked the functional elements of workwear: roomy pockets, durable belts and reinforced seams turned into stylish accents of the collection.
The line includes a trench coat reminiscent of a forge’s coat, a high-neck bomber jacket and a women’s suit that references the clothing of a crane operator. Every detail emphasizes the connection with industrial aesthetics, but at the same time looks current and modern.
The project became not just a fashionable experiment, but a way to show the other side of metallurgy – living, creative and human. Workers professions cease to be something distant and turn into a source of inspiration for art and design, and the plant’s employees prove that a sense of style does not depend on the profession.
