Telegram founder Pavel Durov announced the launch of a laboratory in Kazakhstan at the Digital Bridge 2025 forum artificial intelligence Alem AI. The first project will be cooperation with the Kazakh supercomputer cluster.
A new artificial intelligence laboratory, Alem AI, has begun work in Astana. Pavel Durov personally announced this during his speech at the international forum Digital Bridge 2025. The founder of VKontakte and Telegram emphasized the importance of this event for the development of technology in the region.
The first project of the laboratory will be the joint work of the Telegram messenger with the supercomputer cluster of Kazakhstan. This project is supervised by the country’s Ministry of Artificial Intelligence. Over the past months, the Telegram team has been actively developing new technology that combines artificial intelligence and blockchain.
Durov described in detail the three fundamental principles of the future network. The first principle is transparency, which is ensured by the TON blockchain. The second principle is efficiency achieved through smart contracts and free market dynamics. The third key principle is privacy, which is made possible by innovative developments in chip production.
This is not Durov’s first visit to Kazakhstan. In the summer of 2024, he already visited the country, where he got acquainted with the work of the Ministry of Digitalization and the Astana International Financial Center. The current opening of the laboratory marks a new stage of cooperation.
The launch of Alem AI opens up prospects for the development of advanced technologies in Central Asia.
The material was prepared with the support of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science as part of the Decade of Science and Technology.
