The Society of Experts on Rational Subsoil Use (OSER) invites all interested parties to take part in the discussion of the new edition of the MIRR Code. The document, developed taking into account the international standards of CRIRSCO, is aimed at increasing the transparency of reporting in the mineral resources sector of Russia.

The new version of the Code of Public Reporting for Mineral Resources and Reserves (MIRR) includes a number of important innovations:

  • Cancellation of double classification – now parallel approval with the State Reserves Committee will not be required, which will simplify the reporting procedure.
  • Factorial comparison with state examination – strengthening control over the reliability of data.
  • Empowerment competent persons — experts will receive more responsibility when preparing reports.
  • Preparation for exchange reporting – the document lays the foundation for the publication of data on Russian commodity exchanges.

You can familiarize yourself with the draft Code and send your suggestions to official website of OERN. The discussion will last until July 31, 2025, after which all comments received will be considered.

The updated MIRR Code is a step towards greater openness in the field subsoil use. Participation in the discussion allows you to influence future regulation of the industry. Leave your comment via the feedback form – your opinion will help create a balanced and transparent document.
