The Alliance Altyn company presented an innovative technology for processing gold mining waste – cakes – into construction materials. The development makes it possible to reduce the environmental load and gives a second life to waste from the processing plant of the Jerooy deposit.
Scientific studies have confirmed the safety of cakes: they do not contain free cyanide, and the background radiation is within normal limits. This opens up opportunities for their use in the construction industry. Laboratory tests have shown that the waste can be used to produce a wide range of materials, including mortar mixtures, wall blocks, bricks, paving stones, aerated concrete and road surfaces.
To implement the technology on an industrial scale, Alliance Altyn conducted a detailed analysis of the physical and chemical composition of the cakes. This is necessary to obtain permits and product certification.
The company demonstrates openness: at the Jerooy tailings pond you can see examples of building materials created from recycled waste. The facility is equipped with a geomembrane that prevents drainage, and residual moisture is returned to the production cycle. This reduces water consumption and minimizes the impact on nature.
The new Alliance Altyn technology is an important step towards the sustainable development of the gold mining industry. Recycling reduces environmental risks and creates cost-effective solutions for the construction sector.
