A new geopark “Sablinskiye Falls” has opened in the Leningrad region

A unique natural facility began operating in the Tosnensky district of the Leningrad region. The Sablinskiye Waterfalls Geopark offers guests a free experience of ancient canyons, waterfalls and the diversity of local flora and fauna.

A new recreational area has opened in the village of Ulyanovka. The geopark was created on the territory of the Sablinsky natural monument and is already ready to receive its first visitors. For the convenience of guests, information boards with interesting facts about geology region, installed cozy gazebos and benches for relaxation. One of the hallmarks of the place was a specially created collection of granites.

Visiting the geopark and walking along the equipped eco-trail are absolutely free. This was reported by representatives of the regional branch of the All-Russian Society for Nature Conservation. The project was implemented by the Nature Conservation Foundation with the support of a gubernatorial grant. Its main goal is to organize controlled and environmentally friendly tourism in this specially protected natural area (SPNA).

The choice of location is not accidental. This is where unique objects are concentrated: picturesque waterfalls, deep canyons and ancient rocks that were formed over centuries. The creation of a geopark will help not only preserve this value for future generations, but also make it accessible to all nature lovers.

In the future, it is planned to launch a paid program on the territory of the Sablinskie Falls geopark. educational excursions. They will be conducted by professional geologists and ecologists. Experts will provide detailed insights into how local landscapes and minerals were formed, turning an ordinary walk into a fascinating outdoor science lesson.

The opening of the Sablinskiye Waterfalls geopark is great news for everyone who appreciates outdoor recreation and wants to learn more about their native land. This is a step towards making educational tourism in the Leningrad region even more organized, safe and interesting. Now residents and guests of the region have a great opportunity to visit a unique place with a rich history for free.
