Russian mining companies are actively implementing artificial intelligence. New technologies are radically changing the industry, increasing the accuracy of forecasts and the profitability of projects.
The global market for artificial intelligence for industry is growing rapidly. It is expected to reach $400 billion by 2030. Generative AI is developing especially rapidly, growing by about 40% annually. These systems automate routine tasks, freeing up resources for more complex issues.
In Russia, this trend is gaining particular strength. According to forecasts, by the end of this year the volume of the AI market in various industries will approach 1.9 trillion rubles. Industrial companies plan to increase the implementation of smart systems by 80% in the coming years.
One of the key areas of application is the exploration of new deposits. Here, artificial intelligence analyzes huge amounts of geospatial data. It processes satellite imagery, sensor information and builds accurate simulation models. This comprehensive approach allows geologists prepare projects faster and make more informed decisions. As a result, the net present value of projects increases by 5-15%.
In production, machine vision technologies are becoming indispensable assistants. They monitor the operation of processing plants, predict the quality of raw materials and save resources. AI takes over monotonous and dangerous operations for humans, significantly increasing labor safety.
A striking example is the control of the flotation process. Special algorithms and neural networks analyze the composition of the ore in real time. Based on this data, the system automatically selects the exact dosage of reagents, regulates the air supply and water level. This is not an abstract concept, but actually working solutions that can already increase the extraction of valuable metals from ore by up to 5%.
The introduction of artificial intelligence in the mining industry is no longer an experiment, but a necessary condition for competitiveness. Technology directly impacts financial performance by making mining more efficient, accurate and safer. Companies that invest in digital transformation today will gain a significant advantage tomorrow.
