Demand for Geologists in Russia: Rotational Positions Paying Up to 320,000 Roubles

Russian gold mining companies are actively recruiting geologists for rotational shift work. Employers need both experienced managers and entry-level specialists, and are offering full benefits packages, accommodation, meals, and travel reimbursement. Salaries reach 320,000 roubles take-home, plus inter-shift rest payments.

Kommunarovsky Mine, Khakassia is looking for a site geologist for exploration and production. Take-home pay starts at 256,651 roubles, paid twice a month. The role involves sample collection, supervision of mining operations, and maintaining an electronic database. A relevant degree, at least one year of experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office are required. The schedule is 45 days on / 45 days off; the company covers all travel costs and pays 95,277 roubles for inter-shift rest.

Gorevskoye Mining and Processing Plant, Krasnoyarsk Krai is inviting applications for a Deputy Chief Geologist. Take-home pay is 273,600 roubles per month, plus 57,400 roubles for inter-shift rest and 700 roubles per day for meals. Responsibilities include managing exploration and production operations, ensuring compliance with the Subsoil Law, conducting timely deposit exploration, and calculating reserves. A higher technical degree in Mining Engineering — Geology or Applied Geology is required, along with at least three years of experience and one year in a managerial role. The rotation is 30 shifts, with transport provided from Krasnoyarsk.

NPO Centre for Geotechnical Research has opened a trench geologist position in Primorsky Krai. Take-home pay ranges from 270,000 to 300,000 roubles on a 45/45 schedule. The specialist will document and sample trenches, supervise channel sampling, and compile laboratory registers. Candidates with either a higher or secondary specialised education and at least one year of experience documenting mine workings are welcome. The company covers medical examinations, travel, provides three meals a day, and supplies workwear.

Vysochaishy (GV Gold brand) is seeking a Senior Exploration Geologist for a position in Yakutia on a 60-shift rotation. Salary is 320,000 roubles take-home per month, plus inter-shift rest pay. The role involves preparing and executing geological exploration projects, managing field parties, and overseeing documentation. Experience organising exploration work as a responsible executor and familiarity with mining and geological information systems are required. GV Gold ranks among Russia’s top ten gold producers and provides accommodation in a well-equipped settlement, travel reimbursement, and workwear.

GV Gold is also recruiting a geologist for exploration fieldwork in the Bodaibinsky District of Irkutsk Oblast under a civil contract (seasonal). Take-home pay reaches up to 320,000 roubles. Candidates must know exploration and evaluation methodologies for lode gold, and be proficient in Micromine, ArcGIS, and AutoCAD. Duties include primary geological documentation and the preparation of maps, cross-sections, and plans.

According to hh.ru data, geologists are also in demand in Kamchatka Krai, with salaries from 190,000 roubles. Artisanal mining cooperatives in Yakutia are offering 200,000–250,000 roubles. Holding company Selигдар is prepared to pay a site geologist 299,000 roubles gross plus a 20% annual bonus.

Most companies provide accommodation, cover travel and meals, and supply workwear. Salaries typically include inter-shift rest payments. A relevant degree, at least one year of experience, and proficiency in specialised software are standard requirements for employment.
