Chukotka Multidisciplinary College has launched a new specialist training program for the gold mining industry. A workshop has opened there where students will learn how to operate drilling rigs. The equipment was purchased using presidential subsidies. To create a modern learning space sent 15.2 million rubles.

Previously, future drillers learned theory from textbooks, and acquired skills on the job. Now the situation has changed. The college has installed simulators that accurately replicate the operation of a real air-percussion drilling rig. They simulate all stages of drilling with high reliability.

In addition to simulators, the workshop now has interactive computer programs and electrified stands with 3D projection. With their help, students study equipment design and features of drilling and blasting operations. To test tolerances and standards, we purchased specialized tablets and stands.

The main advantage of this approach is complete security. The simulator allows you to simulate any emergency situation: from equipment breakdown to an emergency gas release. The student learns to make decisions and sees the consequences of his actions, but no one risks life or expensive equipment.

District Governor Vladislav Kuznetsov noted that the launch of the workshop will seriously improve the quality of personnel training. Graduates will be able to enter enterprises immediately after college. They will not need long internships or additional training. For gold mining companies, this is a direct saving of time and money.

The need for qualified drillers in Chukotka is high. Large subsoil users operate in the region: Chukotka Mining and Geological Company, Valunisty mine, Kanchalan-Amguemskaya area and enterprises of the Areal group. They all mine gold ore and need specialists who can work with modern technology.

Training in the new workshop has already started. The students began training on the simulators. This is especially important for a remote region: the faster a graduate adapts to real production, the sooner he will begin to benefit and earn money.
