On September 1, a joint educational program between Gazprom Neft and ITMO University starts, aimed at training of specialists in the area artificial intelligence for industry. Training includes budget places, corporate scholarships and internships with the prospect of employment in one of the leading energy companies.
The new bachelor’s degree was developed within the framework of the federal grant “Training top specialists in the field of IT and AI.” Every year, 160 students will be able to master key areas: machine learning, big data analysis, development of intelligent systems and digitalization of enterprises. Syllabus combines fundamental training with practice at the Strong AI in Industry research center.
Talent support and career prospects:
- Financial support: The best students will receive scholarships from Gazprom Neft.
- Internships: Practice on real company projects from the first year.
- Employment: Graduates will be able to join the Gazprom Neft digital transformation team.
The program is financed by the state (350 million rubles) and co-financed by the company (30%). According to Oleg Tretyak, director of digital transformation at Gazprom Neft, “AI is a competitive advantage, and we invest in those who will develop it.”
ITMO University, a member of the Gazprom Neft League of Universities, will provide a high level of training. As Alexander Bukhanovsky, director of the ITMO mega-faculty, noted, “students will immediately immerse themselves in solving industrial problems.”
The program corresponds to the goals of the national project “Data Economy”, which by 2030 provides for the training of 10,000 AI specialists.
