In September 2025, the Republic of Bashkortostan will become a center of attraction for young geologists from all over the world. From September 7 to 17, the III International Geological Championship “GeoChallenge”, organized by Rosnedra and the Regional Government, will be held here.
It is expected that 38 teams – about 300 people – will compete in the competition. Among them are 22 teams from Russian regions and 16 from foreign countries, including Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, China, Egypt, South Africa and others.
“GeoChallenge” is aimed at popularizing geological professions, developing students’ skills and strengthening connections between young specialists and employers. Participants will not only be able to demonstrate their knowledge, but also get a chance to get an internship at leading companies in the industry.
The championship includes 12 disciplines, including:
- Radiometry
- Mineralogy and petrography
- Paleontology
- Hydrogeology
- Oil and gas
- Crystallography
In addition to the competition, participants will enjoy excursions around Ufa and the natural attractions of Bashkortostan, meetings with representatives of subsoil user companies and participation in the “Race of Heroes”.
On September 8, the official opening will take place with the participation of the head of Rosnedra Oleg Kazanov and the Head of the Republic Radiy Khabirov. The award ceremony will take place on September 17, where the best teams will receive valuable prizes and internship opportunities.
