Russian specialists have patented a unique method of separate extraction gold and uranium from ores. The technology is already ready for industrial implementation and will significantly increase the efficiency of processing complex raw materials.
The Irgiredmet engineering center presented a revolutionary development for the mining industry. The new technology solves a long-standing problem for enterprises – the difficulty of separating gold and uranium at the initial stages of ore processing.
The method is based on the sequential sorption of metals from sulfuric acid solutions. In the first stage, special activated carbon absorbs gold complexes, then ion exchange resins effectively extract uranium. This approach demonstrates impressive results – tests have confirmed the almost complete extraction of both elements.
The development is easily integrated into existing production processes. Enterprises can apply the technology in standard CIP/CIL and RIP/RIS processing schemes without significant capital investment. This is especially important for regions with deposits, containing both gold and uranium.
Experts note the multiple benefits of the innovation. The implementation of technology will allow companies to optimize production cycles, reduce operating costs and increase the overall profitability of processing valuable raw materials.
Patented technology for the separate extraction of gold and uranium opens up new prospects for the mining industry. Enterprises will soon be able to appreciate the benefits of the development – increased efficiency and reduced costs for processing complex ores.
The material was prepared with the support of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science as part of the Decade of Science and Technology.
