Rosatom Engineering Center “VNIPIpromtekhnologii” and Geological Exploration Center university named after Ordzhonikidze (MGRI) entered into a strategic agreement. The partnership is aimed at the comprehensive scientific and technical development of mining and processing projects in Russia.
The main goal of the collaboration is to combine the fundamental knowledge of university science with the practical experience of leading engineers in the nuclear industry. Such a symbiosis will significantly improve the quality of design and construction of new facilities and make mining safer and more efficient.
As part of the joint work, large-scale research and development is planned. Specialists will do accurate digital modeling deposits, the introduction of additive technologies and the creation of intelligent process control systems. Particular attention will be paid to seismic risk analysis and monitoring of the earth’s surface using satellite data. A key tool will be the development of “digital twins” – virtual copies of real production facilities to optimize solutions.
General Director of VNIPIpromtekhnologii Andrey Gladyshev called the agreement a long-term contribution to strengthening the domestic industry. MGRI Rector Yuri Panov added that the partnership will give students access to work on real projects, which will help prepare highly qualified specialists for the country’s economy.
This cooperation opens a new page in the development of the mining industry, focusing on advanced technologies and training for the future.
The material was prepared with the support of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science as part of the Decade of Science and Technology.
