Geological exploration companies in Yakutia will receive significant tax support. From 2026 they will be exempt from paying transport and property taxes. This measure is aimed at stimulating the search for new deposits in remote areas of the republic.
Next year will bring major changes for geological exploration organizations operating in Yakutia. Regional legislation has been amended to exempt them from paying property and transport taxes. This benefit will be valid starting in 2026 and will apply to enterprises participating in the federal project “Geology. Revival of a legend.”
As explained by the Minister of Economy of Yakutia Pyotr Popov, this initiative is a strategic contribution to the future development of the republic. Tax holidays will allow companies to devote more resources to the search and evaluation of deposits, especially in hard-to-reach and economically difficult regions. This opens the way to the discovery of new promising areas.
Federal project “Geology. Revival of the Legend” started in Yakutia in 2025. Its main goal is a significant expansion of the country’s mineral resource base. Work is being carried out in eight districts, including Aldansky, Neryungrisky, Oleneksky and others. Total funding geological exploration for the period from 2025 to 2027 is 18.4 billion rubles.
Surveys are planned at 26 sites over the next three years. Among them are 10 areas that are promising for the search for hydrocarbons, and 11 sites where they expect to find scarce strategic raw materials such as uranium, tungsten and gold. Large-scale regional work is also planned. Rosgeologiya JSC has been appointed to perform all these tasks for the second stage of the project from 2025.
Thus, the introduction of tax benefits will be an additional incentive for the intensive development of the geological exploration industry in Yakutia. This is an important step that will help attract investment and accelerate the discovery of new fields, which will ultimately strengthen the economy of the entire region.
