Registration of Chinese mineral exploration company Zhongjian Hengxin Mining at the Astana International Financial Centre with authorized capital of $5 million.

Chinese Capital Expands into Kazakhstan’s Mineral Exploration Sector with New $5 Million Company

Another company with Chinese backing has entered Kazakhstan’s mining industry through the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC). Zhongjian Hengxin Mining, established with $5 million in authorized capital, will focus on mineral exploration, engineering surveys, and services for the country’s mining sector. The company’s registered address is shared with several other Chinese mining firms.

The company was founded by Chinese citizen Jian Zheng. Its business activities include geological exploration, engineering investigations, and technical services for mining projects—covering the full project lifecycle from early-stage exploration to mine development.

The registered address has drawn particular attention. The same building in Astana is already home to Tianshan Resources, established by mining giant Zijin Mining Group, as well as Central Asia Jinyuan Mining, another company specializing in mineral exploration. The concentration of Chinese mining firms at the same legal address suggests a coordinated and long-term interest in Kazakhstan’s mineral resources.

Chinese investment in Kazakhstan’s mining industry has accelerated in recent years. Last year, Zijin Mining Group acquired gold producer RG Gold, which operates the Raygorodok gold deposit in Kazakhstan’s Akmola Region. In addition, Zijin Gold International plans to raise $600 million through an initial public offering (IPO), with the proceeds earmarked for further development of the acquired asset.

Kazakhstan is increasingly becoming a destination for Chinese investment in mineral exploration. The emergence of new exploration companies—many registered at the same address—alongside multi-hundred-million-dollar investments in operating mines points to a strategic, long-term commitment rather than a series of isolated transactions.
