Rosgeologia resumes work on a large fluorite deposit field Gozogor in Transbaikalia. After completion field Research experts began laboratory analysis of the ore and preparation of a feasibility study for the project.

JSC Urangeo, part of the structure of Rosgeologia, has completed the field stage of work at the Gozogor field. Laboratory studies of the ore and active preparation of a feasibility study are currently underway. By the end of this year, it is planned to complete the calculation of reserves and send all materials to the State Commission for Reserves.

The deposit was discovered by Soviet geologists in the 1980s while studying the Streltsovsky ore field. In the early 1990s, work was carried out by the Sosnovgeologiya trust, but then the project was frozen due to lack of funding.

According to preliminary estimates, fluorite mineralization extends over 2 kilometers. The thickness of the deposits ranges from 60 to 150 meters, and the content of valuable fluorite in the ore reaches 15-45.5%. Preliminary reserves are estimated at 1 million tons under category C1 and 6 million tons under category C2.

An important advantage of the field is its favorable location. There is a highway and a railway line nearby, and there is a thermal power plant, which eliminates the need to build new infrastructure from scratch.

It is planned to organize large-scale production of fluorite concentrates, which are critical for metallurgy in the creation of high-quality alloys, enrichment of rare earth metals and in the glass industry for the production of frosted lenses. The resumption of development of the Gozogor field is of strategic importance for Russian industry.

The material was prepared with the support of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science as part of the Decade of Science and Technology.
