The Rosgeology holding has begun the active phase of a large-scale federal project to study subsoil. During 2025-2027, specialists will conduct geological exploration work at 45 promising areas in different regions of the country. The company is the sole executor of these government contracts.
Priority is given to the search for solid minerals (SMR). Already this year, surveys will be carried out at 29 sites. Work is already underway in Yakutia, Tyva, Khakassia, Buryatia, Tomsk and Magadan regions. The research will also cover the Krasnoyarsk, Transbaikal and Khabarovsk territories, as well as the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug.
The main goal of the second stage of the federal program “Geology: Revival of a Legend” is strategic metals. Their list includes lithium, uranium, molybdenum, titanium, chromium and tungsten. These resources are critical to the development of high-tech industries and national security.
At the same time, the state is also interested in highly liquid minerals, such as gold, copper, silver, zinc and tin. In addition, the holding is searching for new deposits of coal, graphite and fluorspar, necessary for the energy and metallurgy industries.
It is important to note that Rosgeologia has fully completed the preparatory procedures. Design documentation for all objects at the TPI has already been developed and has received a positive conclusion from the State Expertise. This means that all work starts on time and in full accordance with the approved plans
Carrying out such large-scale research will make it possible to assess the country’s mineral resource potential and create the basis for the future development of new deposits. This is an important step in strengthening resource independence and economic development of Russia.
The material was prepared with the support of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science as part of the Decade of Science and Technology.
