Mining company ALROSA plans to begin large-scale geological exploration work on searching for polymetallic deposits in Yakutia. The start of the project is scheduled for 2026, according to the general director of the enterprise Pavel Marinychev.
New exploration will be carried out within the famous Yakut diamond-bearing province. Currently, active preparations are underway for future work. The company attracted several leading Russian research institutes to cooperate to develop an effective research program subsoil.
The key advantage of the project will be its economic efficiency. Exploration work for polymetals will be organized in parallel with the main geological exploration for diamonds. This integrated approach will significantly reduce costs and optimize processes.
Pavel Marinychev especially emphasized that the development of new directions will in no way affect traditional diamond mining. It has been and remains an absolute priority for the company. Projects for gold and polymetals are a strategic addition to diversify activities and strengthen ALROSA’s leadership position in the mineral resources sector of Russia.
Expanding the geography of activity opens up serious prospects for the development of the region and strengthens the country’s raw material sovereignty.
The material was prepared with the support of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science as part of the Decade of Science and Technology.
