Over the past ten years, gold production in the Far Eastern Federal District has increased 1.6 times. This dynamic was voiced by Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Envoy to the region Yuri Trutnev. Even more impressive results were shown by the coal industry, where growth was 1.7 times, but the absolute leader was the copper industry, which increased production by 30 times.
According to Trutnev, the industrial facilities launched during this time not only improved economic indicators, but also radically changed the appearance of the territory. Among the most significant projects, he highlighted the Denisovsky and Inaglinsky mining and processing plants in Yakutia, the Amur gas processing and gas chemical complexes, the Vostochny cosmodrome and the Zvezda shipbuilding complex. The Deputy Prime Minister noted that positive changes are being felt today in all regions of the district.
Total volume production mineral resources in the Far East increased by about one and a half times. Such growth, according to Trutnev, became possible thanks to the commissioning new deposits, implementation of large-scale investment projects and raising capital in the raw materials sector. State support and special economic regimes have turned the region into one of the main centers for the development of the country’s mining industry.
These figures clearly demonstrate that over the course of a decade, the Far East has become a key site for the extraction of strategically important metals. Coal, gold and copper provide not only stable tax revenues, but also tens of thousands of jobs. At the same time, new factories and infrastructure projects lay the foundation for further development, which already goes beyond the commodity sector.
