The eighth International Documentary Film Festival on the mining industry, MineMovie-2026, has announced its results in Moscow. The competition received 74 submissions from 34 companies, and 118 films were accepted for consideration. The top award went to Polyus’s series “Golden People,” while the special prize of the Association “Russian Mining Industrialists” went to GV Gold’s film about a century of dredge mining in Aldan.

The festival’s Grand Prix went to the “Golden People” project by Polyus. The director was Kristina Kozlova and the producer was Valdis Pelsh. The series also won the “Best Popular Science Film” category and received the special “Discovery” award.

Special attention was given to GV Gold’s film “100 Years of the Aldan Dredge Fleet.” The special prize of the Association “Russian Mining Industrialists” was presented by Vladimir Kuragin, deputy executive director of the organization. The decision to grant the award was made by Sergey Kononenko, acting executive director. The film tells the story of technological development, the establishment of production, and several generations of miners who developed the subsoil of the Far East.

Other winners were distributed as follows. Seligdar took first place with the film “Look for It at ‘Poisk’. Diary of a Children’s Geological Camp.” Nornickel won the innovation category with “The Birth of an Underground Machine.” GV Gold took third place for “The Golden Team of GV Gold.” The Vernadsky State Geological Museum of the Russian Academy of Sciences received the prize for best film on environmental projects, “Mining with Care.”

The ceremony took place as part of the MINEX Russia Mining Forum.

MineMovie-2026 confirmed that the industry knows how to speak about itself in the language of documentary film. The awards went to stories about people, technology, and heritage, and the festival cemented its status as the main platform for non-fiction mining cinema.
